Collaborating closely with client and various local suppliers, including surveyors, traffic control, and material providers, thorough planning ensured the successful execution of all services to meet the project’s objectives and fulfil the defined scope. A specialised team from our Bendigo depot was carefully selected to address the specific challenges encountered during the project. To minimise disruption to the public, particularly with nearby schools and shopping complexes, works were strategically scheduled for early Saturday mornings in compliance with the stipulated working hours outlined in the MOA.
The project involved meticulous organization and execution of traffic management plans, including MOAs and TGS, as well as hydro excavation to expose services and utilities for service proving. Close collaboration with surveyors facilitated accurate service proving, while careful attention was paid to reinstating surfaces to their original condition.
Sections within the roadway were methodically targeted, necessitating lane closures to facilitate the cutting through thick sections of asphalt, hydro excavating to prove services, plotting, and reinstating surfaces to their original state. This comprehensive approach ensured the smooth progression of work and minimised disruption to the public.
Efficient workflow and a skilled team on-site ensured a seamless process, enabling the reopening of roads before lunch and the restoration of normal traffic flow, minimising disruption to the public. With two TDG combo units on-site and effective coordination with traffic management, we successfully completed the entire scope of work, including NDD, service proving and plotting, surface reinstatement to original condition, cleaning, and packing up, all finished by 3 pm, well within the operational 10-hour timeframe specified in the MOA.
