Benefits of using TDG Environmental (NZ) for Relining

Minimise disruption

Trenchless technology in pipeline renewal projects minimises the disruption to the public through smaller work sites.

Relining Service Features

Fold and Form Lining

The advantage of trenchless technology in pipeline renewal projects is the social economic savings it provides by minimising the disruption to the public through smaller work sites, less temporary works, and less time on site. For Example: A typical manhole to manhole installation within a carriageway is roughly 3-5 hours to complete the installation. Fold and Form UPVC is a pipe lining method that involves winching a specially formulated and softened PVC pipe into the pipe through the existing access chambers. Injectors are fitted to each end of the Ex-pipe and steam and pressure are applied to expand the lining. The pipe then forms a tight-fitting structural liner within the existing host pipe.

UV Lining

UV Liners are extremely strong, carbon fibre reinforced and are also very thin when compared to all other liner options available on the market. UV Liners display superior strength properties without impacting on the internal diameter of the host pipeline when minimised in any reduction in flow capacity. Hydraulic capacity is increased with the new seamless/ jointless liner allowing for a reduced Mannings number and subsequently increased hydraulic outputs. The liners are pulled place while inside a protective foil. Once in place the liner is inflated with low pressure air to make a tight fit to the existing host pipe. Once at pressure the liner is then cured using a UV light system specifically sized for the nominal pipe diameter. Liners are able to be cured at speeds in excess of 1.0m per minute utilising this technology, this allows us to minimise our site footprints and set-up requirements, subsequently causing less disruption to the public and the surrounding environment. These liners are able to be designed to meet any specific site scenario and are available in a range of resins to meet any requirements from high/low temperatures, high/low PH and any additional elastic properties.

Pressure Main Relining (Sewer/Potable Water)

Through our worldwide connections we are able to source, supply and deliver all options for pressure lining, which can be engineered and tailored to meet your requirements. Our staff are fully trained in the installation process and hold certifications with Pipecore utilising Saertex products. We are able to rehabilitate existing pressure mains and water mains utilising our inhouse equipment of UV curing and robotic cutting systems. We can do this in diameters from 150mm to 1000mm+

Lateral Junction Repairs

TDG uses the latest technology resins and material for lateral junction repairs. The resin provides excellent bonding to materials including PVC, EW, DI and CI. The finished product can withstand water jetting to meet the requirements specified within the Pipe Inspection Manual. Each live house connection is re-opened using a special remote controlled cutting device. This tractor-mounted cutter also incorporates a miniature CCTV camera and is inserted at the manhole and driven up to the location of each live connection. Using the dimple formed and confirmed with measurements, the liner is cut and trimmed back flush and smooth to the full size of the existing opening. An LJR is installed into the cutout to seal the liner to the lateral connection. The LJR is designed to bond with both the host pipe and lateral to form a waterproof seal.
