A heavily overgrown canal in Western Sydney required urgent desilting and vegetation removal to restore water flow and reduce the risk of flooding. Due to the steep embankments and absence of ramp access, traditional excavation methods posed significant safety risks. TDG Environmental was engaged to deliver a safe, efficient, and non-entry solution to clear the canal and prevent future blockages.

Services Provided
Â
Restricted Access: Steep embankments and no available ramp access made conventional methods unviable.
Confined Space Hazardous: Restricted access prevents manual entry into the canal.
Dense Overgrowth: Vegetation buildup hindered water flow and obstructed visibility during initial assessments.
TDG Environmental successfully restored full capacity to the canal through a zero-entry, machine-led solution. The use of specialised equipment ensured the removal of all sediment and vegetation, preventing potential flooding and ensuring long-term flow efficiency. The project eliminated confined space risks and showcased TDG’s ability to solve complex access challenges while prioritising safety and environmental outcomes.
Confined Space Risk Eliminated: All works completed using equipment, removing the need for personnel entry.
Flow Restored & Flooding Prevented: Full desilting and debris removal ensured unobstructed water movement.
Efficient, Non-Invasive Execution: Completed without ramping or major civil works, reducing time and risk on site.
