KARI Foundation’s 2025 Thank You Lunch

TDG was proud to attend the KARI Foundation’s 2025 Thank You Lunch yesterday- an inspiring afternoon celebrating the incredible impact KARI continues to have in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities. A heartfelt thank you to the KARI team for your ongoing commitment and for bringing partners together to reflect on the achievements of the past year. Congratulations to all award recipients- your dedication to strengthening community programs and events is truly outstanding. We’re honoured to stand alongside KARI in supporting meaningful initiatives, and we look forward to continuing our partnership in 2026.

Launch of our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan

We’re proud to have taken the first step in our reconciliation journey with the launch of our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan- a formal commitment to strengthening relationships, building cultural understanding, and creating meaningful opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Guided by Reconciliation Australia, our Reflect RAP lays the foundations for deeper listening, learning, and meaningful action. We’re honoured to feature original artwork by Aboriginal artist Arthur Conlon, representing the regions where TDG operates and highlighting our connection to place and community. This is not just a document or a formality – it reinforces our ongoing commitment to the principles of reconciliation and to creating sustainable impact across the five dimensions: relationships, respect, opportunities, equality, and unity.

Employee Spotlight – Claire

Not all impact happens on-site. Claire keeps jobs moving, she’s a positive, one-stop shop for clients. As an Account Manager, she connects clients with the right services, manages the details, and supports our crews to deliver great service. “What I love most about TDG is the commitment to employee growth and safety, and the teamwork and creative problem solving.” Off the clock: She’s active and outdoors with her two border collies, or catching up with friends and family- usually showcasing some impressive nail art. Here’s to the people behind the scenes who keep TDG running.

Across Australia and New Zealand, our teams showed up with openness and a genuine willingness to make a difference. From toolbox talks and team lunches to group walks and trivia, each depot and office found its own way to acknowledge World Suicide Prevention Day, R U OK? Day, World Mental Health Day– and beyond. We also officially launched TELUS Health during the month, providing employees and their immediate family members with 24/7 access to confidential mental health support, professional counselling, and a range of wellbeing tools and resources. As we wrap up Mental Wellness Month, let’s carry this momentum forward and continue making mental wellbeing part of our everyday practice. At TDG, we respect our people and support our minds.

Celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Māori!

Thank you for joining us in celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Māori! He aha te wiki, he aha te rā. Ka pai te manaaki a ngā kaimahi o Whangārei. (What a week, what a day. So well received by our Whangārei staff.) A week close to our hearts, especially for our Māori and Kiwi whānau here in Aotearoa. A huge thank you to the people who helped bring it to life- Cat & Annette for your support, Kane & Ed for your input, and Rohan & whānau for preparing the hāngī that brought us all together. One of our team shared that when they were at primary school, this part of their identity was actively suppressed- and they were deeply moved to see Te Reo Māori celebrated across TDG this week. It’s a powerful reminder of how far we have come as a country, and that there is still more work ahead.

Te reo Māori is a treasured part of Aotearoa, reminding us of the power of language to preserve culture, identity, and connection. With an office in Aotearoa New Zealand, this week is especially close to our hearts. We’re taking on the @reomaori 50 Reo Challenges — and encourage you to give them a go too! Connecting through community in Cherbourg

Connecting through community! Last month, our team had the privilege of visiting Cherbourg to take part in a local community celebration held during NAIDOC Week. As part of the day, we set up our CCTV van and VAC truck to demonstrate how our equipment works, answer questions, and engage with the community. For us, it wasn’t just about showcasing technology – it was about sharing knowledge, building trust, and being present. One of the most meaningful moments? Watching our team teach local kids how the equipment works, and lending a hand to help clean out a pump the community had been having issues with. We’re grateful to the Cherbourg community for welcoming us and allowing us to be part of the day. These moments remind us why we do what we do- because when we work together, we all benefit.
