Scope of Project

Client has commenced upgrade works at Gibson Island Sewer Treatment Plant, during which waste will not be able to be fully processed at the plant.

 

As such the client has tasked TDG Environmental with the tankering of 720,000 litres of waste from two thickener tanks daily, the waste is loaded via pump at the STP then discharged into the network at a designated sewer pump station.

Challenges

  • Coordination of 4 x 25,000ltr Tankers Daily.
  • Providing uninterrupted service from 6am – 6pm – 7 days per week.
  • Operator training on pump operation.
  • Unexpected road closure at STP required revised Traffic Movement Plan and spotter for reversing.

The outcome

TDG Environmental has successfully serviced the contract to date, initially only three tankers were requested by the client but after review of the volumes of required waste to be disposed, the client requested a fourth tanker.

Project Highlights

  • TDG continually improving the tankering process, including the identification of better suited suction hose and discharged hose which has reduced the chances of potential spills while decreasing discharge times by 30%.
